A Thought On Keeping The Pace

If you're a runner, or simply a watcher of runners, you may have noticed that when jogging or sprinting with a partner, people tend to match their stride with one another over time. To me this is phenomenal. The possibilities for moving forward seem endless, yet somehow when two people run together they unconsciously make up for differences in body size and tendencies in order to match each other's movements. I'm convinced that this has something to do with harmony and our tendency toward it.

If I were in the field of physiology or something like that I would study this, but then again maybe it's better to let this phenomenon remain one of the countless unexplained miracles of life. And so here I remain, amazed at yet another simple thing in life.

In other news, in light of all this rekindled Twitter buzz I started up my Thrill Twitter again. Thrill itself isn't really up and running as we speak, but music will always pump through my veins so this Twitter widget is a select list of music recommendations specifically focused in the world of indie music. Think of it as a refined place to broaden your musical tastes and wax music. I always take recommendations and love talking music, so feel free to reach out and contact me about it. In the meantime, enjoy.

Today's Blogger music recommendation is Lisa Hannigan, an folk-pop artist whose earnest voice and fragile lyrical masterpieces create a comforting, curl-up-by-the-fire sort of feeling. P.C. Greenwood calls Hannigan one of the most engaging and mysterious singers of the past two decades, adding that Hannigan could be "Jeff Buckley's long lost Irish sister." I very much agree.

Thrill Magazine Debut

Thrill Magazine is more than a dream, it's a dream come true. Your lifestyle guide to music, style, and the arts is now online. We're still in a halfway beta testing mode right now and have a bit of development left but since my readers here are mostly friends and loyal followers, I thought I would give you an exclusive glimpse before we pull out all the major tricks. Feel free to visit the site often, because your clicks create our funding. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the content and please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. You'll find a rough webshot below, as well as a letter from the publisher...a few heartfelt words that get a little more personal than I traditionally reveal. I hope you enjoy it all...

A Letter From the Publisher

On Beginnings
Courtships and Crushes and Falling in Love

Love for me has always been vehement. Whether I’m electrified by the syncopated percussions of a favorite song, the art that pulls my soul through my eyes, or the power of a crush, when I let love overcome my existence something in me changes forever.

I remember my most recent crush, the way my heart skipped violently toward madness every time my eyes met the other person’s. I gravitated toward the object of my attraction, lost in the drumbeat of ethereal delight. The beginning of love changed the tint of my perspectives, and my investment into making love thrive was infinite.

That’s how I feel as Thrill Magazine comes to fruition. It’s like a new beginning, the result of countless late nights and hours of deep conversation with those who have helped make Thrill what it is today. It’s madness but nothing short of the investment of my life: a dream come true.

I hope you that as you read our content about music, style, and the arts that it captures your attention and holds your affections. After all, this is the object of our devotion and a beautiful new beginning, the kind that we hope sends electrical currents down your spine and anticipation through your body. May you enjoy this new beginning and fall in love with Thrill the way I have.

For now I recommend a classic, "Mother We Just Can't Get Enough" by the New Radicals. Bask in the beautiful crescendos of this song and then check out Thrill Magazine for more music recommendations and news updates.

Excellent News

What began as a challenging day turned out to be beautiful. I've been feeling hesitant about Thrill as a name for the magazine and even though changing it at this point would be absolutely illogical and stupid, I can't help but think that now is better than after the magazine has launched. I'd prefer a name that automatically embodies who I am but I suppose any company becomes a part of you soon enough. What do you all think? Honestly. Does Thrill do anything for you as the name of a music magazine? Can you think of anything else that might be better? I'll pay you, seriously.

Rather than dwell on it too much I've continued to trudge along. I've been contacting new designers and while the deal isn't final I've got a great prospect with Francesco G. Di Bene, an Italian designer whose web design is incredible. Check out his company, Zen 777. This could change everything.

Before I leave you let's talk about music. I've been inundated with "year in review" press releases from public relations companies as well as previews of album releases in 2008. Big Hassle Media just sent me a 2008 preview release and they introduced me to The Republic Tigers. I predict their somber multidimensional layered sounds will make waves in 2008.

Thrill Update

Although I don't have much to say I thought I'd take a break between Swiffer sweeps and stop in to write a few words.

As some of you may know, I'm in the process of starting a music magazine that I hope will ultimately expand into music, fashion, and art. There is tons to do but I'll love almost every second of it.

Here's a teaser ad to tell you a little bit about what we're all about:
